Teaching goals
1. Allow students time to learn two articles and get some knowledge of school clubs
2. Allow students time to discuss about how to start a school club in groups
3. Help students to work out what club to start, following steps mentioned in discussion
4. Help students to learn to cooperate with group members and draft a poster of a club
5. Allow students time to present their works

Teaching procedure
I. Warming up
Questions about clubs to help students to warm themselves up.
Have you ever joined any school clubs?
What clubs are they?
Do you enjoy your stay with those clubs?
Share with students in pictures about school clubs.
Do you want to join them?/ Are they attractive?
If you have a chance to start a new school club, what do you have to think about/consider?
II. How to start a new school club
Step 1: Reading and getting some knowledge of school clubs
Solution I:
Take out the pre-study notepaper which was handed out for preview and compare notes with group members
Solution II:
1. Divide every group into 2 smaller ones, each responsible for one article
2. Read fast and work together to fill in the forms about the 2 articles
Step 2: Discussion about how to start a school club
Discuss about necessary steps to take to start a new club.
For example:
We may need to think about the name of our club.
We may also need to set a time for club members to meet regularly.
Work out all poosible steps you may come up with and later put them in order of time/in time sequence
Step 3: Exchange of ideas
Make a list of all the ideas shared.

Instructions:
1. Find one or two posters about school clubs.
2. Discuss information about these posters.
3. Decide what can be learned from them.
4. Form your own idea about your club.
Step 4: Producing a poster
Instructions:
1. Draft the poster.
2. Read carefully and make suggestions.
3. Make some changes and finalize the poster.
4. Approve the poster.
Step 5: Presenting a poster
Instructions:
1. Present your poster to the class.
2. Put the poster on display and let students sign up.
IV. Homework (Assignment)
1. Polish up the poster based on the suggestions of the other group members.
2. Vote for your favorite poster
