一、除了宾语从句、主语从句、表语从句、同位语从句要用虚拟语气外，在下列动词、名词、形容词后的从句中也可以用虚拟语气，即谓语用“should + 动词原形”，should可以省略。
1. 动词：advise, recommend, require, ask, desire, determine, maintain等。如：
She advised that I (should) save some of the money. 她建议我存一些钱。
Our English teacher asked that we (should) read English every day.
我们英语老师要求我们每天读英语。
2. 名词：wish, pity, decision, proposal, requirement, suggestion, recommendation, preference, request, desire等。如：The requirement is that the task (should) be finished before 6 o’clock.
按照要求，六点前应完成任务。
It is my desire that all the members of the family (should) gather once a year.
我希望家庭成员每年都要聚会一次。
3. 形容词：necessary, pitiful, advisable, ridiculous,eager, vital等。如：
It’s necessary that we (should) take action right away. 我们有必要立即采取行动。
注意：当suggest表示“暗示、表明”，insist 表示“坚持认为”时，其后宾语从句用陈述语气。如：His action suggested that he disagreed with what you said. 他的行为表明他不同意你的意见。
I insisted that you were wrong. 我坚持认为你是错误的。
二、it is (high, about) time后的从句中也要用虚拟语气，即谓语动词用过去式，表示“是该干某事的时候了”。如：
It’s time that we went to bed. 我们该睡觉了。
It’s high time you saw a doctor. 你该去看医生了。
三、条件句中有were, should时，可以省略if，把were, should放在句首，从句用倒装结构。如：
Were it necessary, I would call you. 有必要的话，我会给你打电话。
Should I have time, I would go camping with you.
如果有时间的话，我会和你一起去野营的。
